Users will not be able to upload to iTunes U courses or iTunes U public podcasts at this time. All content should still be available for download. iTunesU will be undergoing maintenance tonight at 12:00 am April 1st. During this window content will be available to download but uploading of content will be blocked. MediaTech Services will no longer be offering their Dial Access recording service from a number of rooms on campus. The good news is that we have a number of Podcast-enabled Technology Classrooms on campus where you can record your lectures. During the Summer 2009 semester, the computers in the technology classrooms at Penn State have been upgraded. As a result, some of you that have been formerly using the model "Dell Optiplex 280" have had computers replaced with the newer "Dell Optiplex 755's." These computers require some configurational changes in order for them to successfully record your voice. The details are minor and shouldn't take much of your time. They are outlined here.
Now, with the 3.0 software update for iPhone and iPod touch, Penn State on iTunes U is directly accessible over both cellular and Wi-Fi networks. To access your Penn State iTunes U content point youriPhone's mobile browser to http://podcasts.psu.edu and log in with your Penn State userid and password. iTunes will automatically direct you straight into the Penn State on iTunes U home. Once inside you can browse hundreds of free Penn State podcasts as well as your protected course content.
