Educational podcasting at the Pennsylvania State University
Chris Stubbs, Allan Gyorke, and Cole Camplese get together to discuss open invitations, the recent wiki explosion, Cafe ETS, the Learning Design Summer Camp, and the IST Soluitons Institute.
Perhaps my comment was a touch out-of-context or not expressed well enough (by me, that is). To complete the comment: "The ETS wiki is hard to find because my usual habit to find a Penn State wiki is to browse wikispaces and the ETS wikis are not hosted in wikispaces."
Does that make more sense? Would it be possible to put a stub in there for ETS that lists the directory of ETS wikis, if only for the convenience of those who find wikis the way I do? (Don't get me started on how things are listed there, for that matter, but--as Cole says in this podcast--"it's what familiar.")
I think the current technologies, mainly twitter, has broken down the geographical distance. It keeps us (I am three hours away) close to activities and things going on at University Park. Until Tweet Meets and other "live" meetings happen. Then the geographical distance is reminded, because we can not travel for a one hour meeting or get the time.
So, I think you need to challenge folks to break down the distance.
I have tried to participate in several meetings, but folks are meeting in places without connect or other technologies to allow us to participate. Or there is a lack of trying with skype and other technologies.
Guess the challenge is break down the geographical distance for us at campuses at a distance.
